Live Life to the fullest (Ongoing)

Cancer! A scary word which I do not even want to think about, what about-face it in the body of my dearest, my father. I almost collapsed when I saw the word « cancer » in my father’s test. In the difficult days of chemotherapy of my father, a friend suggested that I should follow the Instagram pages of Linda and Manizheh, two people who have suffered from cancer for years.  Their experience with cancer was totally different than mine. They « live » with cancer, not fighting against it. Two women, full of love for life, believe that the most important impact of cancer for them is learning how to live in the present.

Photography of the daily lives of women suffering from cancer for many years was my first professional photography project. Their Instagram page and sharing their experiences helped me a lot in coping with the hard days of my father’s illness. By photographing Linda and Manizheh since March 2018, I wanted to show a different way of looking at cancer to others, who were facing the same difficult experience, including myself. Manizheh died in January 2019 while following the cancer chemotherapy which had recurred for the third time. The project continues with photographs of other women with cancer who live life to the fullest.
